Comcast Newsmakers Interview

The worksite wellness committee is dedicated to providing resources that contribute to healthy and
well worksites in Frederick County, Maryland.

Since the majority of adults spend more than half of their waking hours in the workplace, this becomes
an ideal place to promote health and wellness. Wellness is not about treating, but about preventing
chronic diseases. It is about creating the environment that promotes and enables employees to make
healthy lifestyle choices.

Why implement a culture of wellness in your workplace?
  • Lower absenteeism
  • Lower healthcare costs
  • Increased productivity
  • Lower turnover

Make Your Organization a Healthy Workplace

There is no “one size fits all” approach to implementing a worksite wellness program at your
workplace. The Keys to a

Healthy Frederick Worksite Wellness Toolkit is a helpful tool to identify
your organizations’ needs and build a structure for your wellness program.

Search the Chamber’s business directory for organizations, fitness centers, and healthcare
services or providers that may benefit your wellness program.
