The Council of Community Partners is a volunteer committee of the Frederick County Chamber of Commerce whose mission is to educate, inform, and support the further development of the Frederick County Not-for-profit Sector.

The Council of Community Partners coordinates the annual BoardWalk Training. A six session, 18-hour series, the BoardWalk is an interactive training program to teach business and community leaders to be effective volunteer board members of not-for-profit organizations. The topics featured include:

• Best Practices in Not-for-profit Governance and Management
• Roles and Responsibilities of Board Members
• The Importance of Fundraising and Development
• Legal Basics for Not-for-profit Boards
• Financial Oversight Responsibilities for Not-for-profit Boards
• Strategic Planning and Finding Your Place on the Board

Participation is by application only, and spaces are limited. The application form and information regarding the next class will be available online late November.
