IMPORTANT DATES

  • JUNE 20, 2022: Deadline to register to vote in primary election
  • JULY 12, 2022: Deadline to request mail-in ballot
  • JULY 7 - 14, 2022: Early voting for Gubernatorial Primary election
  • JULY 19, 2022: Gubernatorial Primary election
  • JULY 19, 2022: Mail-in voting must be postmarked or placed in designated drop box by 8:00 pm
  • OCTOBER 18, 2022: Deadline to register to vote in general election
  • NOVEMBER 1, 2022: Deadline to request mail-in ballot
  • OCTOBER 27 - NOVEMBER 3, 2022: Early voting for Gubernatorial General election

ELECTION JUDGES NEEDED

Elections cannot happen without election judges! They greet and check-in voters, give directions, and oversee the procedures to ensure voters are able to cast their ballots while maintaining the integrity of the process. They are the face of the election process and represent their county, state and country to the voting public. 

Judges are needed for the 2022 Gubernatorial Primary in June and the Gubernatorial General in November plus the accompanying Early Voting days. Once your application is accepted, you will have the opportunity to submit your availability. Judges are paid $175 per day plus $50 for the mandatory training class. Chief Judges receive $225 per day and $75 for training (they have additional specialized training). Please note that if you do not work, you will not be compensated for training.

COUNTY EXECUTIVE CANDIDATE FORUM

The Frederick County Chamber of Commerce, in collaboration with the Frederick County Building Industry Association and the Frederick County Real Estate Association hosted a County Executive Candidate Forum on April 7, 2022. Three currently registered candidates, Daryl Boffman, Jessica Fitzwater, and Kai Hagen were asked a series of questions from the Chamber, FCBIA, and FCAR. The forum was recorded and can be viewed here. The candidates were also asked to provide their answers to the questions asked in writing. The responses that were received are listed below. 
Senator Michael Hough submitted the following statement: "Given that I do not have a primary and was participating in the Maryland General Assembly’s legislative session, I was not able to participate in this debate. Once the Democrat candidate is selected I look forward to debating them in the General Election. I have a proven track record as a State Senator of fighting for lower taxes, less regulations and working closely with the business community.
