The Frederick County Chamber of Commerce's Women in Business Committee’s mission is to empower and develop women through education, networking, mentoring and partnerships and to promote opportunities for all women throughout Frederick County. S.H.E. Week is an extension of this mission and centers around the concept of Strength, Heart and Equality (S.H.E.). S.H.E. Week occurs the last week of August and is anchored around Women’s Equality Day.

In August of 2019 the committee launched S.H.E. Week, to great success! In 2020, despite a global pandemic and the shift to a virtual conference, S.H.E. Week grew exponentially and exceeded previous attendance records. S.H.E. Week 2021 saw the addition of the S.H.E. Pitch competition and SHERO Awards. S.H.E. Week 2022 will unpack the power and potential of women by igniting minds, careers and lives.

WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING ABOUT THE EXPERIENCE:

"The Frederick County Chamber of Commerce Women in Business Committee’s S.H.E. Week initiative was a wonderful opportunity for our community to come together to celebrate the successes of local women. The week was an enriching experience to learn from local women who have blazed trails, transformed lives and created new opportunities for the next generation of female leaders. I enjoyed hearing their stories of success and failure, perseverance and passion, grit and grace. Frederick County is a great place to celebrate the strength, heart and equality of women!" - Jan Gardner, County Executive, Frederick County Government.

"WOW! S.H.E. Week was the most inspiring, fun, and educational conference I have ever been to. Every female, no matter your role at work or life, should attend!" -Whitney Cummins, M.Ed. Cummins Leadership Foundation

"The women involved were so warm and welcoming and inspiring, from the original messaging to the bag pick up to the moderators and participants in each session. Chats were positive and engaging and everyone was real. I loved the flexibility of events at different times and the ability to watch recordings of anything I couldn't watch live."
