The Frederick County Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce the 2023 Frederick Chamber Captain’s Cup Golf Scramble on Monday, October 16 at Holly Hills Country Club, where golf enthusiasts, professionals and novices alike will come together for an unforgettable day on the green.

Discover the perfect blend of competition, networking and camaraderie as you test your skills on Holly Hills Country Club’s pristine course. Designed by Russell Roberts, Holly Hills offers a challenging 18-hole championship golf course in a private country club setting. A favorite of former President George Bush, the golf course is rated as one the most challenging in Maryland and features the "Toughest hole in western civilization" (Dan Jenkins, Golf Digest, June 1990). 

TOURNAMENT DETAILS

Whether you prefer flying solo, pairing up with a friend, or assembling a full-fledged foursome, we have the ideal tournament format to suit your style of play. Captain's choice, also known as a scramble, is a format where each member of the team hits a shot from the tee. After all tee shots have been hit, the team selects the best shot among them. From the location of the selected shot, each team member then hits their next shot. This process continues until the ball is holed.

The scramble will also include longest drive, closest to the pin, hole in one, golf ball cannon, and putting contests. The winning team will receive the prestigious “Chamber Captain’s Cup.”

Holly Hills Golf Club has a strict dress code that all playing in the scramble must follow. Read below for details.

• NO jeans regardless of color or length.
• MEN: Slacks, pants, knickers or shorts (maximum 5" above knee). Shirts must be worn at all times and must have sleeves and collars. It is preferred that shirts be tucked in at all times. T-Shirts, tank tops and cut-offs are NOT allowed.
• LADIES: Dresses, skirts and blouses, slacks or shorts (maximum 5" above the knee). Bathing suits, cut offs, halter tops, tank tops, midriffs are NOT permitted.
• SHOES: only regulation type golf shoes are permitted on the course. All other shoes must have prior approval from the Golf Professional prior to playing. Non-metal golf spikes or soft spikes are mandatory
