WHY CHAMBER ADVOCACY IS YOUR
SECRET WEAPON

Picture
One of the hidden benefits of Chamber membership is our ability to advocate on your behalf, especially at the local, county, state and federal levels.

Some reasons for that:
  • The problem that you’re experiencing, the issue you need the government’s help to resolve, has likely been encountered in the past by another one of our members. Maybe not exactly in the same way, but chances are we’ve seen something like it before. We’ll more than likely know what to do, who to contact, and how to help you.
  • When we reach out to our elected officials, it’s not the first time we’ve engaged them and sought their assistance. That’s true across the spectrum of government levels, departments and agencies.
  • When we actively advocate on your behalf, it’s not just YOUR problem we’re raising. Most issues involving government affect others in your industry, sector or market space. Our true strength is the power of our collective voice, leveraging your issue with the all of our other members.

In a normal year, our advocacy efforts would constitute a significant benefit of membership in the Frederick County Chamber of Commerce. In the midst of a global pandemic, with all of the health and access restrictions in place, it may be the best value case we could ever make for membership.

In 2021, Marylanders will be severely restricted from interacting with the legislative process. As a Chamber member, you’ve already purchased our advocacy on your behalf. Why not make sure your own business interests are represented at the same time?

Know that we’ll be fighting hard to see that small businesses get more support, that business regulations and taxes are limited, and that Frederick County receives a fair share of state resources.

We’d be honored to add your issue(s) to the list of the priorities we’ll be working on!
