The year 2020 is one that will be marked as memorable in history books for years to come.

It is a year that each of us has had to redefine the way we work, play and live. We’ve stretched ourselves to unimaginable limits through unfathomable circumstances amidst setbacks, uncertainty, confusion and stress.

None of us has been unaffected.

S.H.E. Week 2020 was no different. Suddenly faced with a world where in-person gatherings were not possible, the women who made up the S.H.E. Week and Women in Business committees worked hard to redefine and reimagine the event to represent the current climate of the country as well as to bring joy and inspiration their peers.

​Through the generous sponsorships of businesses in the community, S.H.E. Week 2020 was not only able to celebrate the strength, heart, equality and resiliency of women in Frederick County, it also recognized and commemorated the 100th anniversary of the 19th Amendment with special programming.

"The power of women to move our community forward was on full display during S.H.E. Week 2020," said Rick Weldon, president. "Almost 300 women, representing all sectors of our economy, came together under the Frederick County Chamber of Commerce banner to celebrate pivots, re-imagined business focus, historic challenges overcome, and SHE-roes of all types. I'm especially  proud of the event organizers for recognizing the accomplishments of our women of color, a special focus during this special recognition of the Women's Suffrage and passage of the 19th Amendment."
