RECAPPING S.H.E. WEEK 2021

The week of August 22-27, 2021 was nothing short of amazing as the third annual S.H.E. Week commenced in-person. Following a year where S.H.E. Week was held completely virtual in 2020, S.H.E. Week 2021 was designed in a hybrid format by women for women to address issues following the COVID-19 Pandemic and empower participants with the community and insights needed not only to survive, but also thrive into the future!

Through numerous community partnerships, countless volunteers, 36 sponsors, and over 250 participants, S.H.E. Week 2021 was incredibly successful.

During S.H.E. Week 2021, we saw the launch of two inspiring additions to the week, S.H.E. Pitch and the SHERO Awards. 

S.H.E. Pitch was a pitch competition for female entrepreneurs, both in the idea stage and growth stage of their businesses. The six women who were chosen as finalists pitched their ideas to an audience of judges and community members. The winners walked away with cash prizes to enhance their businesses. The SHERO Awards were designed to recognize and shine a light on individuals who are making an impact by triumphing over adversity, demonstrating extraordinary care for others or leading change in our community. Award winners included Mary Ford-Naill (SHERO Strength Award), Brooke DeSantis (SHERO Strength Award), Maria Herrera (SHERO Heart Award), and the Lady Ravens Flag Football Team (SHERO Equality Award).

The SHERO Awards were established to celebrate and shine a light on 
individuals who are making an impact by triumphing over adversity, demonstrating extraordinary care for others or leading change in our community.

S.H.E. Pitch is a pitch competition for female CEOs - or "S.H.E.-EOs" - designed to give businesses both in the “idea stage” and “growth stage” cash prizes, publicity and networking opportunities.
