RECAPPING S.H.E. WEEK 2023

The fifth year of S.H.E. Week was held August 7-11, 2023 and was instrumental in showing women in Frederick County to shine from within and own their extraordinary brilliance.

The week started with a Conference Day held at The Arc at Market Street with 210 attendees. Rachel Druckenmiller's keynote Unmute Yourself kicked off the morning. Followed by a panel titled Dare to Shine that included Nicollette Maunganidze, Heather Gramm, and Tiffany Green and was moderated by Dani Adams. Tonya Chubb led participants through an EmPowerment Poem and Debbie Ricker closed out the day speaking on Courageous Leadership. 

S.H.E. Pitch is a pitch competition for female entrepreneurs designed to give businesses both in the “idea stage” and “growth stage” cash prizes, publicity and networking opportunities. This year, we awarded over $10,000 in prize money. Additional prizes included a marketing package from Manning Media, advertising opportunities in Sass Magazine, and a gift certificate to PrintatHood.

The SHERO Awards were established to celebrate and shine a light on 
individuals who are making an impact by triumphing over adversity, demonstrating extraordinary care for others or leading change in our community.
